About the SynDeck® SynDeck Bond Coat (SS1222)
SynDeck™ Bond Coat (SS1222) is a top-quality amine-cured epoxy coating. It is 100% solids, very low odor, and extremely user friendly. It is specifically designed as a primer material with a long pot life and very long working time. SynDeck™ Bond Coat is to be used as a wet-to-wet application in conjunction with installation of SynDeck™ underlayment material and SynDeck™ epoxies. This product can also be used as a corrosion prevention layer over properly prepared metal surfaces.

Applications
SynDeck™ Bond Coat SS1222 can be applied to properly prepared substrates including steel, aluminum, wood, and fiberglass. This product is intended to be used as an adhesion promoter with a wet-to-wet subsequent application of SynDeck™ epoxies and SynDeck™ underlayments (1.5 IMO underlayment SS1295, Ultra Lightweight Underlayment SS1290FC, Ultra Lightweight Underlayment Terrazzo SS1290FCT, and ComDeck Epoxy Underlayment SS1271).
- Surface PreparationDirect to metal: This product is not designed for direct to metal application. Existing coatings and/ or after re-coat window : Light abrasion to achieve a 1 - 3mil (25- 75 micron) surface profile. Surface must be solvent cleaned, dry, and free of contaminants.
- MixingUsing a mechanical jiffy mixer, mix Part A Resin until a homogenous mixture is obtained. Next, pour Part B Hardener into the premixed Part A Resin. Blend the two components together for 1-2 minutes at a slow to medium speed. Take care not to introduce excessive air into the material. Scrape sides and bottom of container during the mixing process to ensure a completely homogenous mixture.
- ApplicationBrush: Use top quality brush for best film properties. Roller: Use Lambswool or similar cover with phenolic core, 1/4 - 3/8” (6-10mm) nap thickness. Squeegee: Use high quality rubber squeegee. Application note: Pot life is dependent on the size of mixed material. Do not mix more material than can be applied within 30 minutes.
- Clean UpClean hands and skin with warm water and mild soap. Clean tools and equipment with MEK, denatured alcohol, or acetone.
